ETHOS
OF THE PRACTICE
Context
To design projects which respect the existing urban or rural environment.
To incorporate in our designs our knowledge of ecological design and
green construction, with attention to energy efficiency, resource depletion,
pollution issues and the health implications, of buildings and products.
To involve clients in the
design process, using 3D models and computer-aided drawings to help
communication and understanding.
To offer our clients a high quality professional service & design
buildings of quality that are practical, affordable, enjoyable and sustainable.
To link with other practices with a reputation for high quality work in order to take on projects requiring different skills and resources.
We often act as the Design Team Leaders, where projects involve a number of different consultants.
OUR
APPROACH TO DESIGN
In 1994 the
Practice was able to find a client with similar interests when appointed to
design the development of the hotel ‘The Narrows’. Here integrated
accessibility and the recycling of materials remained important design criteria.
The practice now has a track record of buildings that are functional and cost
—effective, and importantly are very well liked by the wider public, as well
as by the clients!
